Bills Bio
I have been a student of yoga on and off since 1993. As a personal trainer and martial artist, I used yoga as a form of stretching and cooling down with clients and after my own intense workouts. However, it wasn’t until I was introduced to the practice of Ashtanga Yoga, by the very brilliant Nikki Cousins, that I got a glimpse of the full potential of yoga and its many benefits.
Since my first immersion into Ashtanga Yoga, I have trained with many of the world’s leading exponents of this brilliant practice, including David Swenson, Matthew Sweeney, Peter Sanson, Kino MacGregor and Hemish Hendry, along with our very own Luke Jordan and Tony Purcell. This culminated in my taking the Samadhi Yoga teacher training diploma under the expert and selfless guidance of Greg Walsh, Nikki Cousins, Cara Chotiner, Ronan Mee and Rohan Hennessy. I feel very humbled and blessed to be one of its first graduates. I am eternally grateful to all who have guided and helped me on my continuing yoga journey and feel truly blessed to be in a position to share some of what I have experienced with my fellow students.
Since graduating, yoga has been my passport to teaching far and wide, at home and abroad, from Australia to Drogheda, South Korea to Dublin and a few places in between. I have taught regular classes in Samadhi Yoga Temple Bar and Samadhi Drogheda along with regular workshops and classes in the beautiful and inspirational Yoga Boann in Duleek, run by the very brilliant Barbara Carolyn. “Yoga is whatever you want it to be, from a gentle form of stretching and relaxation, to an all over body, mind and spirit workout”. For me, it’s a way of life.
I welcome students from all walks of life and all levels of fitness. My classes are informative, fun, calorie-burning, energetic and purifying. They help to build muscle tone and strength as well as develop a firm core and a calm and relaxed mind. All to the rhythm of our breath, the breath of life…
We enter this life on an inhalation and we leave on an exhalation, everything else is learning…and a lot of fun!
In the words of Guruji Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the father of Ashtanga Yoga… ”Practice and all is coming”.
See you on the mat trailblazers, bring a towel and a smile!
